Lilly Reports One-Year Results for Taltz and Zepbound Used Together

What Is Happening
Eli Lilly says benefits lasted a year in studies pairing two Lilly medicines: Taltz, used to treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and Zepbound, a weight-loss injection. Psoriasis causes inflamed, scaly skin patches; psoriatic arthritis causes painful, swollen joints. Participants also had overweight or obesity.
The studies asked whether adding Zepbound to Taltz could improve both weight and skin or joint symptoms compared with Taltz alone. Lilly said improvements seen at 36 weeks were maintained or increased by week 52.
In the psoriasis study, 30.6% of patients receiving both medicines achieved clear skin and lost at least 10% of their starting weight, compared with 4.4% taking Taltz alone. These percentages count people who achieved both outcomes, rather than everyone whose skin or weight improved.
Patients knew which treatment they received. The additional one-year analyses were exploratory and did not adjust for the increased chance of a chance finding when testing multiple outcomes. Lilly said fuller results would be presented and submitted for publication.
