Novo Nordisk Raises Its Annual Sales Forecast

What Is Happening
Novo Nordisk raised its sales forecast for 2026, citing stronger expectations for GLP-1 medicines used in diabetes and weight management. Novo makes Wegovy and Ozempic. The company now expects adjusted annual sales to fall by up to 6% or remain unchanged, instead of the previously forecast 4%–12% decline.
Novo is forecasting a smaller decline in sales, or no change, rather than a return to growth. For the second quarter, Novo reported adjusted sales of 78.5 billion Danish kroner, up 7% from a year earlier.
Both the quarterly comparison and annual forecast remove the effect of exchange-rate changes. Novo’s adjusted figures also exclude a one-off accounting effect related to the U.S. 340B drug-pricing programme. These are measures of sales across Novo’s business, not profit or the sales of one particular medicine.
